Indoor Rabbit Hutch Plans - Find Blueprints Online
by David Shule

Are you searching for advice making a rabbit hutch? If like me you've spent several hours researching on the net and reading magazine publishers only to discover that you are left with more questions than answers take a few moments to read this article and in a short time you will see how the Indoor Rabbit Hutch Plans I discovered assisted me to build a hutch in quick easy steps.

In a rush go to www.woodworkingprojectsonline.com

When my son came home and ask for a dwarf lop eared rabbit for his birthday I didn't have a clue about keeping rabbits having grown up with cats and dogs. So I decided to fire up the computer for a little research. I found out that as rabbits are fairly social animals, general opinion seems to be that it's recommended to have two as one will become lonely.

I soon realized this could cost some serious money as the hutch would have to be a fair size to house 2 rabbits and provide them with plenty of space to exercise when we were not around to oversee them hopping around free range. I finished up thinking it would be best if I built the hutch myself, that way I could make it just the way I wanted.

As my wife and I wanted to guarantee the safety of the new additions to the family the consensus was to for an indoor hutch. The one thing neither of us wanted was after a bad spell of weather for my son to go outside and find the poor rabbits huddled, shivering in the corner of the hutch.

So I was in need of some good Indoor Rabbit Hutch Plans to put my woodworking skills to good use and I needed them fast. I was lucky enough to stumble upon a great site & was able to make a hutch with multi levels & ramps which provided enough space for our rabbits to play in. It provided a safe refuge from the dangers of chewing hazardous electric cables, carpets & leaping on furniture when we were not able to watch over them.

We will look at the site that led me the plans shortly, first let me share a few tips I learned about keeping rabbits.
By having your rabbits neutered you will prevent unwanted litters and problems with fighting.
Rabbits can make good house pets as they love company. You will need to provide an outdoor run as well because they do need natural light, need daily exercise & therefore shouldn't be kept indoors all the time.
Male Rabbits are usually more even tempered and predictable.
More grooming will be required if you decide to go for one of the longhaired varieties.
Some of the common breeds can grow quite large, so always get expert advice.
Do not overfeed.
Never give your rabbit grass clippings, lettuce or potatoes as this can cause health problems.
All rabbits will need to exercise every day, make sure it is occupied by encouraging natural behavior. This can be done by having a pipe in the hutch to burrow or a box with some shredded paper in for delving.
Hygiene - Clean the hutch regularly and provide clean bedding.
Never use household disinfectant you can get one from your local pet store that will be rabbit friendly

Here are just 3 of the benefits of using plans for building your own hutch:
1. You don't need professional carpentry skills
2. Easy to follow diagrams
3. Step by step guide

Now as promised, back to the site that helped me build an Indoor Rabbit Hutch without breaking the bank.
